On the satiric level, I appreciate your playful flexing on the high sugar content of the Scandinavian Swimmers, following RFK’s pronouncement that “sugar is poison.“ He’s not wrong that food dyes and sugar are problematic; it’s the hyperbole that undermines whatever dubious credibility he has given his gross disregard for the alarming rise in measles, his dismantling of scientific pandemic preparation , vile misrepresentation of autism and other life and death medical issues that deserve serious scrutiny.

I will give up my Scandinavian Swimmers when RFK Jr. gives up his off label use of testosterone and starts applying SPF…😒

Swedish Fish is the only ‘food’ I have ever had an allergic reaction to. So no Scandinavian Swimmers for me. I do avoid all gummy candies just in case. But I am so relieved that RFK Jr is taking action to counteract this serious threat to public health by banning dangerous food dyes. So much more important and dangerous than a measles outbreak.

RFK’s leadership will almost certainly drive measles to endemic levels in the United States, triggering widespread and entirely unavoidable harm. People will die and many will suffer, Ruth.

I’m having fun in the piece, it’s lighthearted, but this measles outbreak you dismiss or downplay is extremely serious.

I’m actually mocking RFK in this post, but if it makes you feel better then I am earnestly happy for you. I will not, however, that RFK is as of yet only asking the industry to change. Long way to go before these dyes are actually banned.
